This is the 3rd worst!

.....snowstorm/blizzard ever. That is according to Mark. He has seen quite a few, too. He said the Blizzard of '56 was the worst he's seen. Then the Blizzard of '88, was second (I remember that one!) We are not sure how much snow fell on the ranch, possible upwards of 15 inches. Now, thats quite a bit of work! All of the gates must be shoveled out, so that they can be opened to get to the cows to feed, and check water. I think that Mark was getting out the snowmobile yesterday, too! I am sure that he had a great time, too! As far as the calving, the cows are all in the corral, and they pretty much have to fend for themselves until we have a path shoveled to the barn! YIKES! That's too much work for two bad backs to do! We'll see what gets done.
Have a great day!

  1. It seems like as a kid we hat quite a few of these blizzards. In the 60's we had one bad enough that we didn't get to town for 2 weeks and dad lost about 60 head of cattle. Glad we have better forecasts now. Hope your livestock were all safe.
